Having a child
With my female partner
Since 2016 all women have been able to be mothers with access to medically assisted reproduction (MAR) treatments.
Just like with any other couple, it is essential to guarantee that the born children grow in a family environment that enables them to develop their physical, psychological and emotional capacities. At AVA Clinic, we believe that these depend on the quality rather than the type of the parents’ relationship. It is important to have access to appropriate, good-quality treatments that will help make your dream come true. We work with a team of physicians specialising in MAR with many years’ experience but also with nurses, psychologists and embryologists with special training in this area.

High success rates
These treatments’ success rates are usually quite high because in most cases the woman being treated has no infertility problems. In most situations, the probability of conceiving is therefore quite high using a sperm donor. Same sex female couples can also both be involved in the MAR treatment at the same time, using the reciprocal fertilisation (ROPA) method.
Sperm banks
To make this dream possible, knowing that infertility in these cases is due to the fact that there is no male partner, all treatments involve the use of donor sperm. In addition to its own sperm bank, AVA Clinic also has agreements with international sperm banks that meet all the quality and safety standards required by the portuguese National Medically Assisted Procreation Council (CNPMA). This offers a wide range of possibilities for anyone wishing to use donor sperm.
